Melanie Hamrick has confirmed that she and Rolling Stones front man Mick Jagger are engaged.
Speaking with Paris Match and reported by People Magazine, the 37-year-old author and retired ballerina shared that the couple have been engaged for “two or three years,” though they have not made plans to marry in the immediate future.
“Maybe one day we’ll marry, maybe not,” Hamrick shared in the interview. “We are so happy in our current life that I would be too afraid to change anything.”
Hamrick and Jagger, 81, first met in February 2014 while both were working in Japan—she with the American Ballet Theatre and he on tour with The Rolling Stones. Their relationship began later that year, and in 2016 they welcomed their son, Deveraux Octavian Basil Jagger.
While Jagger is often the subject of public interest when it comes to his relationships, this is the first time Hamrick has confirmed their engagement publicly. The couple have kept their personal life largely private, occasionally appearing together at public events, including the Paris 2024 Olympics and 2025 Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty.
Jagger, who has eight children and has previously been in long-term relationships with the late Marianne Faithfull, Bianca Jagger, Jerry Hall and the late L’Wren Scott, has not remarried since his divorce from Bianca in 1978.
While there is no formal wedding planned, Hamrick’s confirmation of their engagement offers new clarity on the nature of their relationship.
The couple currently split their time between the United States and Europe.
