As aforementioned, Liza: A Truly Terrific Absolutely True Story will explore Liza Minnelli’s journey from a childhood overshadowed by public scrutiny and comparisons to her famous parents to her emergence as a legendary performer.
The documentary will also particularly focus on the transformative period Liza experienced in the 1970s following her mother’s death.
She faced immense personal and professional challenges during this time, but with the guidance of mentors like Kay Thompson, Fred Ebb, and Bob Fosse, Liza evolved into a polished star.
What’s the release date for the new Liza Minnelli documentary?
Liza: A Truly Terrific Absolutely True Story premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York in June 2024.
It will be released in cinemas in January 2025. There isn’t an exact release date yet though, so watch this space.
