What movie is getting remade?

Here’s a list of all the films and television shows getting remade in 2024 that we think will be worth watching.

Road House remake

Jake Gyllenhaal is set to star in the remake of Road House, which will be released in March 2024. The original Road House was released in 1989 and starred the late Patrick Swayze.

The Fall Guy remake

In May 2024, The Fall Guy – a film starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt – will be released in cinemas. But the upcoming film is actually a remake of the little known 1980s television show of the same name.

Twister remake

The 1996 film Twister, starring Bill Paxton, Helen Hunt and Philip Seymour Hoffman, followed two storm chasers as they tried to create an advanced weather alert system ahead of a dangerous tornado. In July, a modern reimagining of the film – titled Twisters and starring Glen Powell of Top Gun: Maverick fame and Daisy Edgar-Jones of Where the Crawdads Sing fame – will be released.

Nosferatu remake

Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror, the 1922 film based on the Bram Stoker novel, is still considered as one of the most influential silent films of all time. In December 2024, it’s getting a remake though, starring Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Willem Dafoe and Bill Skarsgård.

Baywatch remake

The show that catapulted Pamela Anderson and David Hasselhoff to fame is getting the remake treatment. At this stage, it’s not yet been announced who will star in the new Baywatch series or when it’ll hit our screens but our guess is either late 2024 or early 2025.

Bewitched remake

If you’ve been wiggling your nose, hoping for a Bewitched remake, you’re in luck! Judalina Neira – who has worked on Daisy Jones and The Six, The Boys and The Flash – has signed a deal with Sony to remake Bewitched, the 1960s sitcom that starred Elizabeth Montgomery.

The upcoming Bewitched series is described as “an irreverent hour long reimagination of the classic TV series”. At this stage, no release date or cast details have been announced so it’s likely the Bewitched remake won’t be released in 2024; probably 2025… Watch this space!
