Ever since the legionnaire Rick O’Connell and Egyptologist Evelyn Carnahan stepped onto the screen in The Mummy, talking of riches in Hamanaptra, we’ve been enthralled.
Which is most likely why a fourth iteration of The Mummy is hitting cinemas in 2028.
And yes, Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz will be reprising their roles.
In the first film, the young and slightly naive Evelyn awakens the mummy, Imhotep, who was condemned to endure the Hom-Dai to ensure he would never pass into the afterlife. But, would grant him eternal powers if he was ever awoken from his curse.

“It’s only a book. No harm ever came from reading a book,” said Evelyn, moments before waking Imhotep.
While Rick, Evelyn and her comedic brother Jonathan – who openly loves the riches of dead pharaohs – defeat Imphotep before his “take over the world ploy,” he then returns as the villain in the second movie.
We could go on about The Mummy franchise forever, but ultimately, we want to know what the cast have been up to since. Below, The Weekly tracks down The Mummy cast then and now.
Where are the cast of The Mummy now?
Brendan Fraser
Rick O’Connell
Following The Mummy’s 1999 release, Brendan worked on a few other films including Bedazzled, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon, and Journey to the Centre of the Earth.
However, he took a massive step back from Hollywood due to a number of reasons including an alleged sexual assault, mental health, and health issues following stunt work.
In 2022, Brendan made a huge comeback with an Oscar-winning performance in The Whale. Since then, he has worked on Doom Patrol, Brothers, Killers of the Flower Moon, and Rental Family.
As for his personal life, Brendan, 57, has been in a relationship with makeup artist Jeanne Moore since 2022.
Rachel Weisz
Evelyn O’Connell
Rachel starred as Evelyn for the first two films, however, she didn’t return for the third installment due to timing issues. The actress recently gave birth to her son Henry, who she shares with ex Darren Aronofsky.
Since The Mummy, Rachel has starred in Agora, The Bourne Legacy, Black Widow, Complete Unknown and About a Boy.
In 2011, Rachel married fellow actor Daniel Craig. When she was 48 years old, Rachel welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Grace.
Arnold Vosloo
Imhotep
Despite his stellar performance in The Mummy, his breakthrough role was in 1993 with Hard Target.
Casting directors noticed his talent to portray villains, taking on the typecast in Agent Cody Banks, G.I. Joe and Condor’s Nest.
In October 1998, the South African-born actor married Silvia Ahi. After 27 years, Silvia allegedly filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable difference”, according to TMZ.
Oded Fehr
Ardeth Bay
While Oded is most recognised for his role in The Mummy, he has also starred in Resident Evil: Extinction, House of David, and Star Trek: Discovery.
In December 2000, Oded married producer Rhonda Tollefson, known for Where the Crawdads Sing. The pair are still together today.
John Hannah
Jonathan Carnahan
John, 63, has been credited in a number of projects including Get Some, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, The Victim, and This Time Next Year.
His most recognised role, however, is 1994 movie Four Weddings and a Funeral.
