Princess Catherine has undoubtedly stolen the spotlight as King Charles and Queen Camilla hosted the German President and First Lady for a state visit.
This is the third State Visit the British royal family, including Prince William, has hosted in 2025.
Also attending the State Banquet were senior working royals Princess Anne, Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie.
Featuring 152 guests including Germany’s President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and First Lady Elke Büdenbender, German supermodel Claudia Schiffer, award-winning composer Hans Zimmer and many more.
For the evening, Princess Catherine withdrew a precious tiara from the royal archives: Queen Victoria’s Oriental Circlet Tiara.
The tiara, worn by Queen Elizabeth and the Queen Mother, is adorned with rubies and allegedly 2,600 diamonds. Kate Middleton opted to pair the tiara with a sparkling blue sequin gown designed by Jenny Packham.
This is the first time Princess Catherine has worn the tiara, and Queen Elizabeth was spotted wearing it only once back in 2005 while attending a banquet in Malta.
Princess Catherine also wore earrings originally belonging to her late mother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth. The striking blue sash also emphasised her royal orders, including the Royal Family Order of King Charles III.
The Royal Family Order of King Charles III is simply a recognition of the monarch’s reign. It differs according to each reigning monarch, but often features their portrait on a ribbon on a colour of their choice.
Meanwhile, both King Charles and Queen Camilla worth the sash and star of Germany’s Order of Merit. The Queen wore a stunning in a green lace gown by Fiona Clare, paired with the Great Britain and Northern Ireland Tiara, diamond earrings and an necklace adorned with emeralds and diamonds.
Surrounded by beautiful Christmas decorations in Windsor Castle’s St George’s Hall, the guests devoured a four-course meal. The lavish meal included smoked trout with langoustines, quail eggs and shellfish sauce, Windsor partridge supreme in puff pastry. Dessert featured basked Alaska and ice cream, coffee and petit fours.
The stunning room included a 25-metre high Nordmann Fir Christmas tree adorned with 15,000 twinkling lights.
