The Australian Women’s Weekly: 90 Years of an Australian Icon exhibition

To celebrate 90 years of The Weekly, visit our exhibition at the Bendigo Art Gallery! Open from Saturday 27th May until Saturday 27th August.

The Australian Women’s Weekly is the country’s most loved and iconic magazine brand, shaping the lives of Australian women for nine decades and earning a special place in the heart of the nation.

Now, as the official launch of the 90th Birthday festivities, The Weekly has collaborated with Bendigo Art Gallery to create The Australian Women’s Weekly: 90 Years of an Australian Icon exhibition.

Opening on Sat 27 May and running through to Sat 27 August, the first-of-its-kind exhibition will be a celebration of iconic, inspirational, and fun moments in the history of the influential Weekly brand.

Visitors can expect to see gorgeous gowns worn by Mary, Crown Princess of Denmark, Miranda Tapsell and Tina Arena, to crafts lovingly stitched by readers and memorabilia from the trailblazing women who founded and built the Weekly in the 30’s and 40’s.

“We are beyond thrilled to be bringing some of The Weekly’s most memorable moments to the Bendigo Art Gallery in what will be a spectacular start to our 90th celebrations. The Australian Women’s Weekly has a rich heritage of combining agenda setting news stories, real-life features with a legendary lifestyle and food offering since 1933. 90 Years of an Australian Icon brings the breadth of The Weekly’s content to the fore, demonstrating its tremendous influence on the lives of Australian women.”
