Stephen Graham has portrayed some obscure characters in his acting career, but his favourite role may just be husband to Hannah Walters.
The world went silent when Stephen delivered an emotional acceptance speech during the 2025 Emmy Awards.
The British actor portrayed Eddie Miller in the Netflix series, Adolescence. It was because of his incredible performance that he won Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series – one of six awards the series took home.
“This kind of thing doesn’t happen to a kid like me. I’m just a mixed race kid from a block of flats in a place called Kirkby,” he began.
“So for me, to be here today, in front of my peers and to be acknowledged by you is the utmost humbling thing I could ever imagine in my life and it shows you that any dream is possible.
“There’s too many people to thank but I am going to thank my friends and family. Without you, none of this is possible. Thank you for helping me with something that I can’t do on my own.
“I want to bring it to my dad for taking me to the video shop when I was a kid and kick-starting my education in film – Quarry Green video shop.
“My kids Grace and Alfie and my adorable wife, who I love with every ounce of my being – you are my rock, you are my world, you are my soulmate and you know and I know, without you, I would be dead.
“So from the bottom of my heart I love you with everything I have. Namaste everyone, thanks very much,” he concluded.

Who is Stephen Graham’s wife?
When Stephen made the declaration that he would “be dead” without his soulmate and wife, Hannah Walters, fans became very curious about their relationship.
Well, Hannah isn’t a stranger to the entertainment industry given she is an actress, producer and director.
Hannah, 51, began acting back in 2006. First appearing as Trudy in This is England alongside her now-husband.

How did Stephen Graham and Hannah Walter’s meet?
The lovebirds met while training to become actors. They were friends for years, until Stephen confessed his love for Hannah as she was planning to move to Spain.
“We were bezzie mates. Which is the best way, isn’t it? After a while we just thought: this is daft… We like each other, we should get together,” Stephen told Leicestershire Live in 2018.
When Graham finally dropped down onto one knee, Hannah claimed she was waiting five years for him to ask.
Hannah and Graham got married on June 6, 2008.
