Comedian Nath Valvo and singer Deni Hines appeared to be fast friends on the first episode of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here Australia. However, a few episodes in and it became clear that the two had a personality clash. However, they resolved their issues on the show…or did they?
In a recent interview with The Weekly, Deni shared that she did have issues with Nath while she was in the jungle, but they worked through them.
“Nate and I had a great talk, too, which was good. Look, I can be a c*nt with you if you’re a c*nt to me, but I’m also a person. I sensed that Nathan was having issues. So, I was like, “Can I chat with you for a minute?” So, we sat down and had a good chat,” she said to The Weekly.
Watch that exchange here. They apologised to each other and it appeared like all was okay.
However, it appears to have been short-lived. On an episode of The Fox’s Fifi, Fev & Nick radio show, Nath shared some of the inside stories from the jungle. Which Brendan could verify as his daughter, Mia was a contestant along with Nath and Deni.
Following his stint in the jungle, Nath saw a headline from news.com.au that said that Deni Hines left him in tears.
“Deni did not like Nath Valvo… let me tell you,” he tells the hosts.
Watch a clip of the tensions building between the two in this clip:
It turns out that Nath’s choice to sing Deni’s own song back to her, which she admitted on the show is a song she “hates”, was the beginning of the end of their friendship.
“As soon as I saw her, I sang her song! From there, it just spiralled out and she wasn’t very nice to me,” he said to the hosts.
Deni openly admitted that she didn’t like being around the other campmates. In her interview with The Weekly, she shared that she likes her own space and being around lots of big personalities, wasn’t a great experience for her.

“There was just so much going on,” Deni said in our conversation. “I spend a lot of time by myself in my own company, in my own space, listening to music, or doing whatever. And I’m not usually surrounded by so much chatter.”
“People were trying to pull focus all the time. Just trying to have that conversation that’s going to be aired on the show. And I’m not like that. I’m in my 50s. I’m not like that.”
Nath also confessed that he hasn’t spoken to the singer since they were on the show. Whereas he has kept in touch with “everybody else.” He even joked that she couldn’t speak with him as he has “blocked her.”
“We have not stayed in touch! I don’t think she’ll be able to contact me because I blocked her… it’s a joke, it’s a joke (laughs). I’m friends with everybody else. Mia [Fevola] and I call after every ep and have a big goss!”
