Will there be a second season of The Golden Bachelor Australia?
With the final rose ceremony looming, we’re wondering if Channel Nine will renew the reality dating series. Unfortunately, as of writing, the network has not confirmed it’s return.
During Nine’s 2026 Upfronts on October, they didn’t mention another season of The Golden Bachelor. However, the network might be waiting for ratings so the door isn’t completely closed yet!
But, fans are calling for a Golden Bachelorette spin-off after Jan was shockingly eliminated. There is in fact, a U.S. version of The Golden Bachelorette which also featured a former contestant.
Host Samantha Armytage teased she’d love for the franchise to expand.
“As we say with this show, you don’t know what the future holds,” she previously told Yahoo Lifestyle. “So I think let’s just get The Golden Bachelor’s inaugural Australian season to air and see how that goes, but I think there is a bright future ahead for this show.”

What happened in The Golden Bachelor US?
The US iteration first premiered in September 2023. With 72-year-old Gerry Fox as the titular ‘golden bachelor’ looking for love and the season was wildly popular.
In fact, the finale, in which Gerry gave his final rose to 70-year-old Theresa Nist, reached 6.1 million viewers in the US alone – making it the most-watched episode in the American Bachelor franchise since 2021.
This led to the couple’s wedding being broadcast through a TV special called The Golden Wedding.
Plus, the ABC (American Broadcasting Company) has already confirmed a Golden Bachelorette series; the first of which will star 61-year-old Joan Vassos – who was previously a contestant for Gerry.
The Golden Bachelor is obviously a spinoff from the long running reality series The Bachelor and The Bachelorette; the key difference is that it features senior citizens rather than 20-somethings in the cast.
The Australian versions of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette ran from 2013 to 2023 but in May of this year, Channel Ten announced both series had been cancelled.
