Who is the host of The Golden Bachelor Australia?
Returning to host yet another brilliant season full of love is journalist Samantha Armytage, listening to double the heartbreak, and double the golden fun.
Prior to hosting the first season, Samantha made the difficult decision to leave Channel 7 – where she worked for an incredible 21 years. Her final gig with the network was hosting another reality series, Farmer Wants A Wife.

Will there be a second season of The Golden Bachelor Australia?
The Golden Bachelor is returning for a second season, and the network has teased “double the romance.” But what does that mean? Well, instead of following one search for love, there will be two Golden Bachelors.
Nine promises it will be a season full of twists, with each Bachie bringing their own “story, personality, and approach to love.” Hopefully their second time around at love will bring a fruitful future!
In another twist, the contestants won’t be the only ones chasing in 2027. Nine revealed the vibrant women can follow their hearts and decide which Golden Bachelor will be ‘the one’ for them.
Who was the Australian The Golden Bachelor in 2025?

What happened in The Golden Bachelor US?
The US iteration first premiered in September 2023. With 72-year-old Gerry Fox as the titular ‘golden bachelor’ looking for love and the season was wildly popular.
In fact, the finale, in which Gerry gave his final rose to 70-year-old Theresa Nist, reached 6.1 million viewers in the US alone – making it the most-watched episode in the American Bachelor franchise since 2021.
This led to the couple’s wedding being broadcast through a TV special called The Golden Wedding.
Plus, the ABC (American Broadcasting Company) has already confirmed a Golden Bachelorette series; the first of which will star 61-year-old Joan Vassos – who was previously a contestant for Gerry.
The Golden Bachelor is obviously a spinoff from the long running reality series The Bachelor and The Bachelorette; the key difference is that it features senior citizens rather than 20-somethings in the cast.
The Australian versions of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette ran from 2013 to 2023 but in May of this year, Channel Ten announced both series had been cancelled.
