While viewers only recently watch Barry ‘Bear’ Myrden confess his love for Sunny in The Golden Bachelor Australia, the pair have nearly hit their one year anniversary.
The final episode of The Golden Bachelor aired on November 16, 2025, with Bear handing out his final rose to Sunny.
Set amongst the cliffs and coastline in Cape Town, South Africa, Bear confessed he had “found the one.”
“You amaze me with your resilience and your courage… you’re a force of nature. You deserve somebody to lift you up and never clip your wings,” he confessed to Sunny.
“When I think about the future… I can’t imagine doing it without you. I love you.”
Overjoyed by his admission, Sunny responded: “My heart is full of joy and happiness and love for you, and I’m looking forward to the journey with you.”
Are Bear and Sunny still together?
After a beautiful conclusion to Australia’s first season of The Golden Bachelor, we can confirm Sunny and Bear are still together.
To not spoil the ending, the lovebirds kept their relationship a secret for many months. However, the Bachelor did tease a few “secret getaways” during the seven months of secrecy.
“We talk every day, mostly twice a day. There’s been a couple of very secret getaways but they were few and far between,” Bear told 9Entertainment.
Sunny added: “It been hard, we wanted to see each other especially when episodes were airing but we couldn’t so we were just counting down the days.”
But viewers weren’t the only ones left in the dark! Bear’s sons, Charlie, Jack and Declan didn’t even know about the relationship.
“I didn’t know who it was going to be, he never said anything,” eldest son Charlie told 9Entertainment.
However, Sunny’s two daughters, Chloe and Penelope, knew the entire time.
Shortly after the episode aired on Channel Nine, Sunny shared a collection of loved-up pictures with her new boyfriend on Instagram.
“After 7 months of dating in secret, we can finally be public and tell the world we are happily together!” she captioned the post.
And the love didn’t stop there.
The pair have shared videos on social media, thanking fans for their love and support of the journey – one that Bear described as “wild.”
“I’m very happy,” Sunny admitted before leaning in for a kiss.
Shortly after their relationship status went public, Bear and Sunny finally went on their “first date in public” with Sunny revealing, “It is such a relief to not keep this a secret anymore.”
Many months later, Sunny continues to share all the details of her relationship with Bear on social media. The mother-of-two even shared photos of their children coming together for Bear’s birthday celebrations.
Their blended family continues to come together for special celebrations, including their first Christmas together in 2025.
Are Sunny and Bear engaged?
In the final rose ceremony, Bear gifted Sunny a beautiful ring. Immediately, fans believed the ring to be an engagement ring.
However, Sunny’s shiny new accessory is a commitment ceremony.
The CEO even shared a video on Instagram of Bear putting the ring back on Sunny’s wedding finger after months of not being able to wear it.
“BTW it is a promise ring 😜💍” she wrote.
