The Crown’s Emma Corrin and Olivia Colman to star in new Pride and Prejudice series

The new Netflix adaptation of Pride and Prejudice isn’t even out yet and it’s already bewitched us body and soul.

On April 11, 2025, the streaming giant announced that Dolly Alderton, the best-selling author of Everything I Know About Love and Good Material, is set to write the screenplay and BAFTA winner Euros Lyn is set to direct. 

Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice is the blueprint for romantic comedy – it has been a joy to delve back into its pages to find both familiar and fresh ways of bringing this beloved book to life,” Dolly told Tudum once the news went public. 

Suffice to say, we are the happiest creatures in the world…

Is Netflix making a Pride and Prejudice series?

Yes, as aforementioned, Netflix is set to adapt Jane Austen’s classic 1813 book Pride and Prejudice into a series. 

Dolly Alderton and Euros Lyn are at the helm. 

At this stage, an exact release date has not yet been announced but production will commence later this year in the UK.

Who will star in the Netflix version? 

Emma Corin, the Golden Globe winner best known for playing a young Princess Diana in The Crown, has been cast as Elizabeth Bennet. 

Jack Lowden, the Emmy nominee of Slow Horses fame, has been cast as Mr Darcy. 

And Olivia Colman, the Oscar winner known for The Crown, Broadchurch, and The Favourite, has been cast as Mrs Bennet.
