Well, without giving too much away, the plot follows four friends who live in a retirement village as they try to solve a murder.

“The plot, as I understand it, for The Thursday Murder Club movie is based on the first book, but it’s not entirely the same, because you have to change things is the truth,” Richard said on his podcast The Rest is Entertainment.
In 2020, shortly after the book’s release, Steven Spielberg acquired the adaptation rights to The Thursday Murder Club. After a few years of delay (mainly caused by the Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA strikes), filming began on June 27, 2024.
