A tell-all Bon Jovi documentary is finally gracing our screens

Chronicling the band's epic rise to fame.

From hits like Livin on a Prayer to You Give Love a Bad Name, Bon Jovi’s brand of unapologetic stadium rock has dominated the airwaves on our radios, Walkmans, iPods and phones for decades. Now, a new Disney+ documentary – Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story – is giving fans and music lovers an intimate backstage pass to witness the lore behind the iconic ‘80s rock group.

Bon Jovi was born in New Jersey in the early ‘80s where a young Jon Bongiovi (who would later go by Jon Bon Jovi) had slowly pieced together a group of school friends and experienced musicians who would form his eponymous band, Bon Jovi.

The four-part documentary series chronicles the band’s rise to fame and penning their iconic tracks like Livin on a Prayer, which Richie Sambora describes as, “The best song we’ve written to date.”

According to the trailer, Richie will also open up about his sudden departure from the band. Richie, who was Bon Jovi’s longtime guitarist, left the group back in 2013.

“I’m excited,” the guitarist says in the trailer. “Are we telling the truth or are we gonna lie? What are we gonna do?”

The documentary is also set to include exciting cameos, including an appearance from rock god and fellow New Jerseyan, Bruce Springsteen.

“Jon’s choruses demand to be sung by 20,000 people in an arena,” the Boss praises in the trailer for the four-part series.
