Where to watch Force of Nature: The Dry 2 in Australia

The Australian crime thriller is back with another instalment.

Force of Nature: The Dry 2 is the hotly anticipated sequel to the Australian mystery, The Dry. Based on the trilogy by Jane Harper, The Dry is centred around Federal Police agent Aaron Falk – played by Eric Bana – who returns to his hometown of Kiewarra upon the death of his childhood best friend.

Two years on from the first instalment, the second film has just been released with a star-studded Australian cast.

Here’s everything you need to know.

How can I watch Force of Nature: The Dry 2 in Australia?

You can catch Force of Nature: The Dry 2 in cinemas nationally on February 8th. However, if you’re super keen you can catch an advanced screening from the 25th of February at Hoyts, Village Cinemas and the Westpac Open Air cinema in Sydney.

If you still need to catch up on the first film, you can stream it with a Stan subscription.

What is the plot of Force of Nature: The Dry 2?

In Force of Nature: The Dry 2, Eric Bana reprises his role of Detective Falk for another thrilling Australian mystery. This time, Detective Falk is called in after five women go on a corporate hiking retreat but only four return.

In an utterly gothic tale, the obligation to track down the missing hiker lures Detective Falk deep into the bushland and the tangled web of his own mind.

Who stars in Force of Nature: The Dry 2?

Force of Nature: The Dry 2 stars some big Aussie names and some up-and-coming actors, too. Eric Bana returns to the role of Detective Aaron Falk – a federal agent who specialises in the Financial Intelligence Unit. Eric stars alongside Aussie stars Anna Torv and Deborra-Lee Furness as well as Richard Roxburgh.

What book is The Dry based on?

Both The Dry and Force of Nature: The Dry 2 are based on books written by Australian author Jane Harper. The novel was first released in 2016 and has since gone on to win numerous prestigious awards and sell over a million copies.

Almost immediately after being released, Bruna Papandrea and Reese Witherspoon – the producers behind Big Little Lies – began optioning the rights for the book.

There is a third book in the ‘Aaron Falk trilogy’ called Exiles – but there is no word yet whether or not the third instalment will also be turned into a film.
