Robert Irwin has praised his sister Bindi Irwin for writing her upcoming book during a difficult time.
During the July 21 episode of The Project, Robert hosted the show and Bindi appeared as a guest to talk about You Are a Wildlife Warrior.
First, Bindi shared that her daughter Grace, whom she shares with husband Chandler Powell, was the inspiration for her book.
“I started working on this just after Grace was born,” she said.

“I held this beautiful baby girl in my arms and went, ‘Oh my goodness, she’s going to have such an incredible life here at Australia Zoo running around with animals,’” Bindi continued.
“That’s where I got started right away. It’s been about three years in the making. It feels really good to be here. Grace has had a sneak peak of the book and she pretty much names all the animals in the book.”
Robert then sweetly added, “You worked on this book in the throes of the endometriosis struggle you went through so publicly. You came out the other side being an advocate for endo and a continuous advocate for the natural world.
“And this is a gift for the world. The younger generation, thank you for always approaching everything with such a sense of selflessness and absolute courage.”
You Are a Wildlife Warrior is an illustrated children’s book that will take readers through the Australia Zoo and teach them about various different animals and their habitats.

The book, which will be released on February 4, 2025, will also feature exclusive Irwin family photos – you can pre-order it here.
“I’m really thrilled to be able to share our work with wildlife and conservation with the next generation of warriors and hopefully inspire kids to love and appreciate our natural world,” Bindi also said of her book before complimenting her brother’s skills as an uncle and a brother.
She said Grace loved “Uncle Robert” and lights up “like Christmas” whenever he’s around.
“She gets so excited, he’s so much fun,” she said before adding:

“Robert, I love you, you are a good brother.”
Both Bindi and Robert have been in the public eye since they were little thanks to their father, the late Steve Irwin.
Since Steve’s tragic death in 2006, Bindi and Robert – along with their mother Terri Irwin – have continued his work of conservation, advocacy and running Australia Zoo.
Bindi has also pursued TV presenting, acting, singing and now, writing.
Robert pursued photography as a teenager and just recently started TV presenting; he co-hosted this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and, as a result, is up for the 2024 Gold Logie.
