Channel Ten confirms Robert Irwin will continue to co-host I’m A Celeb

“We can’t wait to do it all again next year…”

Channel Ten has seemingly confirmed Robert Irwin will co-host I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Australia again next year.

Recently, several outlets reported that Robert would follow in his predecessor Dr Chris Brown’s footsteps: leave I’m A Celeb and begin working for Channel Seven.

However, a spokesperson from Ten told Yahoo Lifestyle that this was a ridiculous and unfounded rumour.

“What a load of croc! We’ve heard a lot of furphys over the past 10 seasons, but media reports about Robert Irwin no longer hosting I’m A Celeb take the cake and are completely fake,” the spokesperson said.

“We’ve just wrapped an excellent season and can’t wait to do it all again next year,” they added.

It’s not surprising that Channel Ten wants to keep Robert on the show; during the most recent season, the son of the late Australian icon Steve Irwin proved he’s a natural TV presenter.

In fact, many fans praised the 20-year-old Wildlife Warrior online, calling him “a legend” and “amazing to watch”.

Plus, when the news was first announced that Robert would be replacing Chris, back in October 2023, he described it as a “dream come true” – so why would he want to leave after only one season?

“I was knee-high to a grasshopper and had the bowl cut. This just feels like it was meant to be. I loved so much getting to do that show. I remember just being so in awe, getting on that set, seeing the massive crew, the incredible energy that particularly Julia brought to that shoot,” Robert first recalled (for context, he appeared on I’m A Celeb as a guest star when he was 12-years-old).

“Since then, I became a massive fan of the show and watch it every season so to be able to have this opportunity is wonderful,” he continued before adding:

“There have been so many rumours flying here, there and everywhere, and so, to finally say that I can be a part of this show in some capacity is so wonderful. It is actually a dream come true for me. I never thought something like this would be a reality. I just cannot wait to take this on, it is my first time getting to sink my teeth into something like this.”

You can watch Season 10 of I’m A Celeb, co-hosted by Robert Irwin, now on 10play.
