Our first look at Robert Irwin co-hosting I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! is here

And it's clear the 20-year-old is a natural peformer and presenter...

Wildlife Warrior, and son of the late Australian icon Steve Irwin, Robert Irwin has appeared in his first promo for the 2024 season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, and it’s obvious the kid’s a natural when it comes to performing.

Robert is Julia Morris’ new co-host of Ten’s I’m A Celeb, replacing Dr Chris Brown who left the show and Channel Ten altogether in early 2023.

In the new clip, Julia is on the phone, listing what she’s looking for in a new co-host when Robert swings in – literally, like Tarzan or George of the Jungle- and begins singing and dancing.

“Just think of what we could do, remember I was born in Australia Zoo” and “I may be only 20, but I come from Wildlife royalty” are two of the hilarious lines in Robert’s song.

If anything, the promo made us even more excited to see young Rob step into a television presenting role on March 24, 2024 (when the new season of I’m A Celeb premieres); it’s just one more of the many ways in which he’s following in the footsteps of his old man.

When the news was first announced that Robert would be replacing Chris, back in October 2023, he reminisced about being a guest star on I’m A CelebrityGet Me Out Of Here! with his mum Terri and sister Bindi in 2016, when he was just 12 years old.

“I was knee-high to a grasshopper and had the bowl cut. This just feels like it was meant to be. I loved so much getting to do that show. I remember just being so in awe, getting on that set, seeing the massive crew, the incredible energy that particularly Julia brought to that shoot,” Robert recalled.

“Since then, I became a massive fan of the show and watch it every season so to be able to have this opportunity is wonderful,” he continued before adding:

“There have been so many rumours flying here, there and everywhere, and so, to finally say that I can be a part of this show in some capacity is so wonderful. It is actually a dream come true for me. I never thought something like this would be a reality. I just cannot wait to take this on, it is my first time getting to sink my teeth into something like this.”

Julia, in typical Julia Morris fashion, made a wisecrack before highly praising her new co-host.

“Of course I am joking but it is an upgrade, definitely.

“I am really looking forward to having that full reset with Robert. I am beside myself with joy…

“Honestly, I auditioned with the best in the business,” she continued.

“It could have been anyone’s job, hand on heart. To rise above that standard, Robert came in for his audition; he was mesmeric, he was so funny. He was just ready to step in. The magic will just continue to unfold as the onion of our great partnership starts to unravel. It is going to be the best of times.”

The new season of I’m A Celeb, which will be the show’s 10th season overall but the first with Robert Irwin as co-host, is set to premiere on March 24, 2024 on Channel Ten and 10Play.
