Best-selling Australian author Liane Moriarty is officially releasing a sequel to Big Little Lies, and we are so excited.
Back in 2014, Big Little Lies was published, debuting at number one on The New York Times bestseller list. Liane was the first Australian author to debut at the top spot in the US, and she’s now sold over 20 million copies of her books around the world.
In 2017, a television series based on Big Little Lies was released, starring Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Zoë Kravitz and Laura Dern. Nicole and Reese also co-produce the show. The series was so popular that although the first season covered the entirety of the original book’s plot, a second season was released. Additionally, a third season of Big Little Lies is currently in the works.
And then just this week it was announced that Liane’s sequel book, Big Little Truths, will soon be hitting bookshelves. In a post on her Facebook Liane said, “It was such a joy for me to return to Pirriwee with Celeste, Madeline and Jane. I hope that you too will feel like you’re back with old friends.”

What is Big Little Truths about?
Big Little Truths takes place 10 years after Perry Wright fell from the balcony that fateful Pirriwee High trivia night.
Madeline is planning for her 50th birthday. Jane is happily married … she thinks. Celeste is haunted by memories, and troubled by her mother-in-law. Their kids aren’t kids anymore. And things are falling apart.
The story starts with an anonymous package containing a severed finger being delivered to the school, plus a suspicious man seen driving around the property. Everyone is uneasy. Whatever truth is about to be uncovered, one thing is certain – it will hurt someone.
When will Big Little Truths be released?
Big Little Truths is releasing in Australia, New Zealand, the US and Canada on August 25. It will release in the UK on August 27.
