The charismatic media personality that is Jessica Rowe has teamed up with The Australian Women’s Weekly to help you enjoy more family time at the dinner table and spend less time in the kitchen, with a brilliant new cookbook, aptly titled Everyday Not-So-Crap Family Meals.

The Jess we know and love does everything in a fabulous, loud, joyful fashion and she’s kept with this for the launch of the new book, as a mass of Australian media A-Listers attended the event to celebrate alongside the self-confessed ‘Crap Housewife’.

The glamorous affair, which was hosted at luxury Sydney jeweller, Fairfax & Roberts, was not only attended by Rowe’s media peers, but also her doting husband, newsreader Peter Overton, and her youngest daughter, 13-year-old Giselle.

The social butterfly Jess mixed and mingled amongst the extravagant displays of jewels, as the guests were treated to delicious canapes (made by expert caterers, not Jess), followed by a few short speeches.

Jessica took this time to give heartfelt thanks to many, but amongst the acknowledgements she managed to make the whole room laugh loudly when she admitted to a cooking faux pas.

As she responded to her husband Peter heckling her about the bad dinners she’s served up in the past, Jess admitted that once she did put sprinkle icing sugar – instead of flour – on top of potatoes before roasting them.

Jess doesn’t shy away from the fact that she’s not the best cook, after all it’s the whole reason her new cookbook was created, to help other mothers or parents that don’t have much in the way of culinary skills but still need to feed a nagging family.

Luckily with the Everyday Not-So-Crap Family Meals cookbook there will no longer be cooking failures in the kitchen for Jess, or owners of the book.
