She’ll also continue her popular Saturday night hosting duties on A Current Affair.

It’s a significant new chapter for the 51-year-old journalist. Deborah has spent the last five years balancing both radio and TV roles. In 2020, she made history as 2GB’s first female weekday talkback host. More recently, fronted Money News across Nine Radio stations.

But now, Deborah says it’s time to return to her roots.

“I’m incredibly excited to be stepping back into a full-time television role,” she said in a statement. “It’s a fantastic opportunity to be part of the daily news cycle and connect with viewers during these important bulletins.”

Her return has been met with enthusiasm inside the Nine newsroom. Fiona Dear, Nine’s Director of News and Current Affairs, praised Deborah as “an exceptional journalist and a beloved figure on Australian screens.”

“She brings such warmth, intelligence and experience to the role — and our audiences have always responded to that.”

While Deborah’s radio fans may be disappointed, she’s not going far. Her final Money News show will air this Thursday (3 July, 2025) night. A new host is expected to be announced soon.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time in radio, particularly hosting Money News, and I’m grateful for the wonderful listeners who tuned in,” she said. “But I’m thrilled to continue being part of the Nine family.”
