In extremely exciting news, singer-songwriter Delta Goodrem has returned to acting.
The 38-year-old is set to star in Netflix’s upcoming film Love is in the Air – a romantic comedy that will debut on the streaming platform on September 28, 2023.
In Love is in the Air, Delta plays Dana, a pilot for the non-profit Australian air service Fullerton Airways. But trouble ensues when Dana begins falling for William, a handsome British man who was sent to Australia by the company financially supporting Fullerton Airways to shut it down…
Fans were ecstatic when Delta shared the first trailer for Love is in the Air on Instagram; many took to the comments section to voice how happy they were that Delta had taken on an acting project.
“Oh this looks brilliant! So good to see you acting again too,” one fan wrote.
“We need more films with Delta,” another said.
“Forgot what an amazing actress you are as well as a vocal genius,” a third echoed.
Of course, Delta has dabbled in a few acting roles over the years.
Most notably, Delta played Nina Tucker from 2002 to 2003 on the iconic Australian soap Neighbours (she also briefly reprised the role in 2022 in what was supposed to be the last episode of Neighbours until it was renewed).
She also starred as Alison Ashley in the 2005 film Hating Alison Ashley.
Delta’s most recent role was playing the late Olivia Newton-John in the 2018 biopic two-part series Olivia Newton-John: Hopelessly Devoted To You.
Love is in the Air doesn’t just mark Delta’s return to acting though; Delta serves as an executive producer on the film – a first for the Born To Try singer.
Also starring in Love is in the Air, which was filmed on location in Far North Queensland, is Joshua Sasse, Steph Tisdell, and Roy Billing.
