One of Australia’s most beloved musical artists, Delta Goodrem, has been announced as our country’s entry to the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, Austria, in May 2026.
She already has some Eurovision pedigree to her name. She has written songs for Eurovision winner Celine Dion and has collaborated with Olivia Newton-John. But now, she’s taking the stage herself. Many of us are asking, what took her so long?
“I’m so honoured to represent Australia on one of the biggest and most iconic music stages in the world at Eurovision,” said Delta in a statement. “As a singer-songwriter, music has been my lifelong passion. I’ve always loved the creativity, individuality, and joy Eurovision brings, Monday 2 March 2026, connecting and uniting people across the globe through music, the universal language. I can’t wait to arrive in Vienna and make Australia proud.”
Delta has had a massive year in 2025; she married her long-time partner, Matthew Copley, in a private ceremony in Malta.
Writing at the time, “It was more magical than we both could have dreamed.”
The song she is singing is ‘Eclipse‘, with a very timely release as the Blood Lunar Eclipse is happening tomorrow night.

Delta Goodrem is joining the ranks of other representatives for Australia in the Eurovision, including Guy Sebastian, Dami Im, Jessica Mauboy, and Kate Miller-Heidke. Discover everyone who has represented the country since 2015 here.
The exciting news is somewhat marred by the controversy surrounding the Eurovision Song Contest. Four countries, Slovenia, the Netherlands, Spain and the Republic of Ireland are boycotting the competition in protest of Israel’s inclusion. The countries are protesting Israel’s actions in Gaza, which the United Nations Commission has deemed a genocide.
