New tour dates announced for Jimmy Barnes’ Working Class Man tour

Jimmy announced the exciting news of the Working ClassMan tour on Instagram earlier this year.

“This November marks 40 years since I released For The Working Class Man,” he said.

“To celebrate, I’m hitting the road for the Working Class Man 40th Anniversary Tour. I’ll be playing the album in full, plus a few of my favourites, at some of the country’s most beautiful outdoor venues. I’ll also be joined by my dearest friends: @icehouseband@ianmossmusic and @therealkateceberano. It’s going to be a hell of a show.”

Is Jimmy Barnes on tour in 2025?

Yes, Jimmy will tour Australia in November 2025 – going all the way through until March 2026. 

He’ll kick off the Working Class Man 40th Anniversary Tour in Geelong, Victoria.

Telstra Members have exclusive access to the Telstra Plus Member presale, commencing Monday 17 November at 10.00am local time for 48 hours (or until presale allocation exhausted) via telstra.com/tickets     

MG Live and Face To Face member presales, as well as a Jimmy Barnes fan club presale, start Wednesday, 19 November at 11.00am local time for 48 hours.

All shows are licensed for all ages except for the Sandstone Point Hotel show, which is 18+.

Who are the support acts for the Jimmy Barnes tour?

At all shows, Jimmy will be joined by his friends Kate Ceberano, Icehouse and Ian Moss.

And now he’s announced that also joining these shows (except for the Sydney Opera House and Rod Laver Arena) is a very special guest: John Rooney.

John and Jimmy have a very special connection. On the night that Jimmy married Jane, Cold Chisel were doing a gig at the Comb and Cutter Hotel in Blacktown. The support act was a band called The Lonelyhearts, fronted by John Rooney.

While Jimmy’s career remained on stage, John went on to become one of Australia’s best orthopaedic surgeons, something that has benefited Jimmy personally.  

“This man got me up dancing again when he operated on my hips, not once, not twice, but three times,” Jimmy reveals. “John Rooney will get you up dancing, too.”

When was the last time Jimmy Barnes went on tour? 

Jimmy Barnes last toured Australia in June 2025 in support of his new album DEFIANT.

This came after he was forced to cancel all shows for the Australian leg of the Hell of a Time Tour in August 2024.

Why? The singer experienced severe pain in his hip and, as a result, had to undergo surgery

However, it wasn’t the only health scare Jimmy has faced in recent years; in December 2023, he underwent open heart surgery and in 2022, he had a hip replacement.
