It’s not often we’re rooting for the end of a relationship, but we may have been persuaded when Julia Roberts portrays Julianne Potter in My Best Friends Wedding

Julianne has been best friends with Michael O’Neal (Dermot Mulroney) since they were kids and vows to get married if they were single at 28. But when he calls one night to reveal he is engaged to Kimberly (Cameron Diaz), she comes to the sudden realisation that she is in love with him.

She sets out on a misguided plan to stop the wedding and “steal the bride’s fella.”

Now, the 1997 film has a sequel in early development. Unfortunately, there are no details regarding My Best Friends Wedding 2
