Australia’s “undisputed queen of pop” Kylie Minogue is currently on the European leg of her Tension Tour, and she sparkled on the first night of her four night run at The O2 Arena in London. Performing all her latest songs and certified hits, the crowd could not get enough of our Kylie.
The Tension Tour is the popstar’s sixteenth headlining concert tour and is set to finished up at the end of August in Mexico.

Kylie was honoured for her prolific career with The Ted Albert Award for Outstanding Services to Australian Music at the APRA Music Awards. Kylie is on tour in the US, and so was unable to accept the award in person.
“As I’m on tour at the moment, I’m singing songs throughout my entire catalogue. So, from the first one, The Locomotion, right up to songs from Tension, I’m really aware of… the passage of time and how much more music means to me,” she said via a video message.

APRA said Kylie is one of the most successful recording artists of all time. She boasts over 80 million albums, two Grammys, four Brit Awards, 18 ARIA awards and both an Order of Australia and The Order of the British Empire. Richard Wilkins presented the award, and the pop princess later posted about the honour online.
“My love for music is deeper than ever!” Kylie said. “There is simply listening to and enjoying music, then there’s writing and making music, plus the life it has shaped for me.”

The Empire State Building was illuminated in green and gold lights, the national colours of Australia, to celebrate Kylie selling out Madison Square Garden.
Furthermore, the event was in partnership with the Great Barrier Reef Foundation. During a lighting ceremony, Kylie Minogue, alongside Australia’s Consul-General in New York, Heather Ridout, activated the ceremonial light switch to commence the tribute.
Additionally, the Empire State Building shared the news on its Instagram page with a remix of Kylie’s 1987 debut single, and iconic song: “The Loco-Motion.”

The singer is currently on her worldwide Tension Tour. It’s her 16th headlining concert tour. The tour began in Perth, in February 2025 and is making its way through North America before heading over to Europe, then South America, and finally finishing up in Central America.

Kylie was honoured with a star on the forecourt of Rod Laver Arena in February 2025.

“This is such an honour to have this in my home town,” the singer said during the unveiling at the Melbourne Park precinct, which coincided with her Melbourne Tension tour shows and on the 35th anniversary of her first performance at the then-named National Tennis Centre in February 1990.
“I wasn’t quite prepared for the gravitas of it and what it means to me and how beautiful it looks.”

In extremely exciting news, Kylie announced she’s set to release a new album on October 18. The album’s called Tension II and is a companion album to Kylie’s 2023 hit album Tension. A new single from Tension II, called “Lights Camera Action”, will also be released on September 27.

Chris Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay, penned a short article about Kylie in honour of her making the list.
