The news came in the cover story of Sunday Life February 2026 issue.

“We just feel so incredibly lucky that this has happened to us at this point in our lives,” said the TV WEEK Gold Logie nominee of their engagement. “We’ve been through a lot, with relationships and all the rest of it, and we are just so grateful for what the world has given us.”

Simon proposed to Lisa Millar on New Year’s Eve in Murray Bridge, South Australia.

In her interview with Sunday Life, Lisa shared that she feels “like a teenager with it all.”

The couple first met in 2007. At the time, Simon was still married. A mutual friend introduced them, and they kept in touch over the years across jobs and continents. However, there was never a “spark.”

“Not only was there zero spark, but I once said he looked much older than his actual age,” which insulted Simon and “hurt his ego.”

Despite that, in November 2023, they met up again. Simon, now divorced, and Lisa have been together ever since.

“From that moment, November 14, we have just absolutely had zero doubt that we were going to be together forever.”

“To be given another chance at this incredible happiness, I didn’t want to screw it up,” she says. “Work had always come first before… I didn’t want to make the mistakes, didn’t want to follow the habits that I had.”
