What does ‘materialist’ mean?
The term materialist has different meanings depending on context.
In everyday usage, a materialist is someone who prioritises wealth, possessions, and material comforts over spiritual or intellectual pursuits.
It’s likely the movie is called Materialists as the plot revolves around Lucy trying to decide between two men: Randy, who is wealthy, and John, who is not.
AKA she’s deciding whether or not to prioritise wealth.
