Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom were undoubtedly the ‘It’ couple of the 2010s.
Unabashedly sharing loved up moments in public, everyone remembers when the Pirates of the Caribbean actor gave his partner a standing ovation as she walked the 2011 Victoria Secret Show, showing off her signature wink.
So, it was a shock to fans when Miranda and Orlando announced their divorce in 2013. With over a decade of co-parenting their now 15-year-old son, Flynn, the pair have both moved on.
But now 13 years later, the KORA Organics founder has made a rare comment on their marriage, why it ended, and how far they’ve come.

Why did Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom divorce?
Miranda and Orlando divorced in 2013 after three years of marriage due to irreconcilable differences. In 2025, Miranda said on The Edit, “It was the right thing to do; we weren’t bringing the best out in each other.”
The supermodel reaffirmed their reasons for divorce while speaking on Paul C Brunson’s We Need to Talk podcast. However, they have always both assured the split was mutual and wanted to be as “harmonious” as possible for their son.
“From day one, Orlando and I had done a lot of spiritual work, and forgiveness was a big part of that, forgiving each other, forgiving ourselves, creating peace within the situation,” Miranda said on the podcast.
“So when we made that decision to separate, I said to him, ‘Let’s always put the needs of Flynn first.’ Like, let’s not make it about us. Let’s make it about what’s in the best interest for Flynn.”
“When you have a child with someone else, they’re always going to be that person’s parent for the rest of their life, and there are going to be situations when you’re going to need to talk if you like it or not,” she added.
Orlando has also backed up Miranda’s statements. Shortly after their separation was formalised, the US actor told Couric, “We love and care about each other. Most of all, we love our son.”
“We’re going to be in each other’s lives for the rest of our lives. There’s no question that for the sake of our son and everything else, we’re going to support one another and love each other as parents to Flynn.”
