The Block is returning for its 20th season in 2024.
So without further ado, here’s everything you need to know!
What’s the release date for The Block this year?
The Block 2024 will premiere on August 12 on Channel Nine and 9Now.
Where is The Block 2024 going to be held?
This year’s season of The Block will be held on Phillip Island in Victoria. The 2024 contestants will have to transform rundown holiday homes into luxury properties designed by The Block’s longtime architect Julian Brenchley.
Longtime co-host of The Block Scott Cam said in a statement about this year’s location, “When I drove into the site for the first time I knew it was going to be a big job for our contestants.
“The houses are enormous and when you walk around the site, there are surprises at every turn, including a tennis court and a swimming pool.”
Who are the judges for this year’s The Block?
Co-hosts Scott Cam and Shelley Craft will return for The Block in 2024, along with judges Shaynna Blaze and Darren Palmer.
However, Neale Whitaker will not return in 2024. Neale will be replaced by real estate agent Marty Fox; read more about the judges here.
Is Keith on The Block in 2024?
Keith Schleiger – aka ‘the Blockinator’ – is no longer The Block’s foreman. In the 2024 season, Dan Reilly will take over the role.
Keith explained why he couldn’t commit to this year’s season of The Block, saying that Phillip Island was just too far away from his family.
“I wouldn’t have been able to commute from Melbourne, I would have to live down there. It just didn’t feel it was the right thing to do at the time, I don’t really want to spend three months without them [wife Rebecca and two daughters Ebony and Jasmine],” Keith told 9Entertainment.
However, Keith will still have a brief cameo appearance on The Block in 2024.
Who are The Block contestants in 2024?
The 2024 Block contestants are:
- Jesse and Paige, an engaged couple from Western Australia.
- Kristian and Mimi, newlyweds from South Australia.
- Ricky and Haydn, best friends from Victoria.
- Courtney and Grant, a married couple from New South Wales.
- Kylie and Brad, married parents from Queensland.
But that’s not all in terms of contestants this year… A group of All-Star contestants will be returning to The Block in 2024.
“As this season builds to the auction, a select group of the All-Stars will be helping this year’s Blockheads to create something never seen on The Block before,” Channel Nine said in a statement.
The All-Stars returning include last year’s winners Steph and Gian and runners-ups Eliza and Liberty, as well as 2023 winners Omar and Oz and fan-favourites Tom and Sarah-Jane.
Ronnie and Georgia, Jimmy and Tam, Andy and Deb, Kyal and Kara, Michael and Carlene, Dale and Sophie, and Alisa and Lysandra are set to return too.
