The new series, titled Elle, will be an origin story of Elle Woods as a high schooler in the 1990s. Amazon Prime Video confirmed the series is in development, with Reese Witherspoon sharing her excitement about the project.
In a video posted on Instagram, Reese revealed, “Before she became the most famous Gemini vegetarian to graduate from Harvard Law, she was just a regular ’90s high school girl. And all of you are going to get to know her, next year on Prime Video. I’M SO EXCITED!”
According to Deadline, the series is being written by Gossip Girl creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage.
