We are almost at the end of the current season of MasterChef Australia, but the winner may have already leaked…
How? Well, for years, fans have looked at the betting odds provided by agencies like Sportsbet or TAB to try and predict who will win.
And this year, as soon as the contestants donned their aprons and started their culinary battle, the odds dropped on Sportsbet – and now that we are down to the final six, fans are pretty certain of who will be crowned 2025’s top chef.
Who were the favourites coming into MasterChef: Back to Win 2025?
As the name suggests, this is a season of favourites! There are chefs from 2024’s season, there are veterans who have appeared in the MasterChef Australia kitchen numerous times, and there are former contestants who have gone on to forge successful culinary careers in restaurants and in online spaces.

However, when the season started, the favourites to win were the three secret contestants: Laura Sharrad, Callum Hann, and Sarah Todd. They were all brought in as a secret surprise for the other returning contestants.
Each of them has had great successes in the culinary space. They have continued to remain the favourites throughout the season. However, at the time of writing, all three have been very close to leaving the competition.

Who is the current favourite to win MasterChef: Back to Win 2025?
Sportsbet currently has Laura Sharrad tipped to be the winner with odds of $1.37, followed by Callum Hann at $4.00. Depinder is next up with odds of $11.00, followed by Ben at $15.00 odds. And coming up last is Jamie Fleming $34.00. However, Ben was eliminated in episode 54, and Depinder exited in Episode 56, which means the chances are getting better for Jamie.
Odds are not 100% reliable, of course, but last year Nat Thaipun led the pack with the most favourable odds of winning. When it was down to the final three, Nat sat at 1.24. And she ended up winning.
Plus, in 2023, fans used betting odds to correctly predict the MasterChef winner. As soon as the 2023 season started, betting agencies had Brent Draper with the most favourable odds of winning, and he did win.
Obviously, though, only time will tell who takes out the MasterChef title this year…
