Two of us. Two very different skin concerns. One identical Vixin routine. Over the next four weeks we are tracking it all in one place, with honest updates and a fresh video diary from both testers every week. Bookmark this page, because we will keep adding to it as the trial unfolds.

How this diary works

Jayde is trialling Vixin for hormonal acne and Sammy is trialling it through pregnancy. Each week they share how their skin is tracking, what they are loving and what is testing their patience, with a new TikTok diary for each of them. Scroll down for the latest entry, or start at the beginning and follow the whole journey.

Meet the two testers

Jayde, trialling for hormonal acne. Jayde gets breakouts along her jaw and chin on a monthly schedule you could almost set a calendar to. She is hoping a simpler, calmer routine settles things down rather than adding fuel to the fire.

Sammy, trialling through pregnancy. Sammy’s skin has been doing new and unpredictable things since she became pregnant. She is after a pared back routine that feels gentle and fuss free. Before starting, she checked the ingredient lists with her own healthcare provider.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, always check new products and active ingredients with your GP, obstetrician or midwife before starting. Sammy’s diary reflects her personal experience only, and is not medical advice.

The routine they are both using

Both testers follow the same simple three step routine, morning and night: cleanse with the Clean Team All-In-One Cleanser and Tone, press in the Shake To Activate Super Vita Serum, then seal everything with the All-In-One Apple Stem Cell Cream. Mornings finish with a broad spectrum SPF.

Week 0: The starting point

Before a single pump of product, here is where both testers begin. These are the bare-skin baselines we will measure everything against.

Jayde

Jayde is starting the trial mid-cycle, with a few familiar breakouts settling in along her jaw and a patch of congestion she knows well. Her skin feels a little reactive and uneven, and the goal for the next four weeks is simple: fewer flare ups, and a calmer baseline she does not have to think about so much.

Sammy

Sammy comes in with skin that has stopped behaving the way it used to. Some days it feels tight and dry, others she wakes up to a breakout out of nowhere. She is keeping it deliberately simple, and after checking the ingredients with her healthcare provider, she is ready to see whether a pared back routine brings a bit of calm and consistency.

Week 1: First Impressions

Jayde

Honestly? The first thing I noticed was how much simpler my mornings got. I have spent years layering on at least twenty serums and creams every morning and night, so dropping back to three steps felt almost too easy, like I was forgetting something.

The Clean Team cleanser is a gel, and it does not leave my skin squeaky or tight. The Shake to Activate serum has quickly become the bit I look forward to, there is something satisfying about the little shake before it goes on, and it sinks in fast without any sticky film. Such a win.

The All-In-One cream was the one I was most unsure about, because I don’t love thick moisturisers…my skin starts to feel claustrophobic. But, it has been comfortable so far, rich without feeling heavy. My one word of advice…less is more!

As for the breakouts, I am not going to pretend my skin cleared up in seven days. I came into this mid-cycle with a few along my jaw and they are still doing their thing. What I can say is that my skin feels calmer and more hydrated.

Early days, but I am quietly optimistic. Truthfully, my makeup has never gone on so nicely. My skin feels like it is resetting and I can’t wait to continue on to see the final results. Ask me again next week.

Week 2: On the skin journey

Jayde

The thing I keep coming back to is how easy this has become. Two weeks ago, three steps felt suspiciously simple, like I was forgetting something. Now it is just my routine, and honestly, I do not miss the twenty serums and creams at all.

Here is the honest part. I am about a week out from my period, and right on cue the hormonal breakouts have arrived along my jaw and chin…the same ones I get every single month like clockwork. I went in knowing this week was coming, and I want to be really clear: no cream is going to stop a hormonal breakout. That is just not how my skin works. So if you are reading this expecting flawless skin at week two, that is not where I am at.

What I can tell you is how differently my skin is handling it. Normally a breakout week leaves me red, dry and flaky from all the actives I would usually pile on to fight it. This time my skin is broken out, yes, but it is calm underneath, still hydrated, and the spots feel less angry and inflamed than they usually do. They also seem to be moving through faster. That, for me, is the real test, and so far it is holding up.

Week 2 of our @VIXIN Beauty skin diary, and Jayde’s skin is loving it. Two weeks into one simple routine for her hormonal acne, the jawline breakouts are still coming, but there are fewer new spots, and her skin is looking more even and hydrated than it did in week 1. Still keeping it honest: not flawless yet, but the change is real. Part 3 lands next week. Follow so you do not miss it, and tell us in the comments, are you team one step or ten step routine? Onto the products, because a breakout week is exactly when I judge them hardest.

The Clean Team cleanser has been a quiet hero. It is a gel, and even though it has salicylic acid in it, which is exactly what I want when I am congested, it never leaves my skin tight or stripped. I have used plenty of acne cleansers that squeak the life out of my face, and this is the opposite…it cleans properly but my skin still feels soft and comfortable afterwards.

The Shake to Activate serum is still the step I look forward to most. There is something genuinely satisfying about the little shake to mix it before it goes on, and you can tell the actives are fresh rather than sitting around going flat. It sinks in within seconds, no sticky film, and across the fortnight I have noticed my overall tone looking brighter and more even, even with the breakouts dotted through.

The All-In-One cream is the one that surprised me most, because (as mentioned) I usually hate a rich moisturiser…my skin starts to feel claustrophobic almost immediately. Once I worked out that less really is more, it became the step I would not give up. A little melts in and my skin feels cushioned and hydrated without any heaviness, and crucially it has not made my breakouts worse, which is always my fear with anything this nourishing. The glow it leaves behind is quietly doing the job my highlighter normally does.

The biggest surprise at the halfway mark is that even in my worst skin week of the month, I am not panicking or reaching for a pile of spot treatments. My skin feels calmer, bouncier and like it is genuinely resetting rather than just being patched over. My makeup is still going on beautifully too, which during breakout week is basically a miracle.

Two weeks down, two to go. The real question now is what my skin looks like once this hormonal wave passes, and I am properly curious. Ask me again next week.

Week 3: My skin looks so bloody good

Jayde

The hormonal wave has passed, and what has been left behind is not what usually happens. Normally, once a breakout clears, I am left with the aftermath…the red marks, the dry patches from everything I threw at it, the dullness that hangs around for another fortnight. This time there is almost none of that. The spots have healed cleanly, my skin tone looks even, and the whole surface just looks smoother.

Here is what I keep noticing. My skin feels bouncy. That is the only word for it. There is a softness and a plumpness to it that I have not had in years, and my cheeks catch the light in a way they simply did not a month ago. I keep touching my face, which I never do. When I take my makeup off at night, my skin still looks good underneath, and that is the part I am not over.

The All-In-One cream is doing the heavy lifting here, and I have made a full turnaround on it. I came in braced for that claustrophobic, heavy feeling I get from rich moisturisers, and instead it melts in and leaves my skin cushioned and hydrated all day. Three weeks on, it has never once triggered a breakout, which for my skin is close to unheard of. The glow it leaves is the reason I have stopped bothering with highlighter altogether.

The Shake to Activate serum is the one I would repurchase tomorrow. Three weeks of that little shake every morning, and the brightness is undeniable. The post-breakout marks that usually linger for weeks have faded far faster than they should have, and my tone looks clearer and more even than it has in a long time. You really can tell the actives are fresh.

And the Clean Team cleanser has quietly earned its place. It keeps my congestion in check without ever stripping me, which is the balance I have been chasing for years and never quite found. My skin is never tight after washing. Not once in twenty one days.

The thing I did not anticipate is what this has done outside the bathroom. I have left the house twice this week without foundation, which anyone with hormonal acne will understand is not a small thing. My makeup, when I do wear it, goes on like a dream. And I have stopped scanning my jawline in the mirror every morning waiting for the next thing to appear.

Three weeks down, one to go. I came into this quietly optimistic and I am ending it genuinely won over. The real question now is whether it holds through the next cycle, and honestly, I think it might. One more week.
