The convenience of pre-cooked pulses

McKenzie’s pulses in Tetra Pak include Chick Peas, Red Kidney Beans, Lentils, Cannellini Beans and even a Three-Bean Mix. These handy 380g packs mean you can whip up healthy, nutritional, affordable and mouth-watering dishes in no time.

While overnight soaking and longer cook times associated with dried pulses certainly have their place for quality home cooked meals, when you’re in a hurry, you want ingredients that are ready when you are.

Whether you’re serving up a quick salad or cooking a last-minute hearty stew, these pre-cooked pulses cut preparation time, with less mess and waste to deal with after dinner.

Nutritional benefits galore

These handy pulses in Tetra Pak are also packed with nutritional benefits, serving up a decent dose of fibre and protein. In fact, each pack has a 5-star health rating and is free from artificial flavours and colours, preservatives and added sugar.  You can simply heat and eat, add as you cook, or pour straight into salads from the pack (after draining, of course).

Packaged to be easy for you and better for the planet

McKenzie’s pulses in Tetra Pak offer a more convenient cooking experience and they’re incredibly easy to use — simply open the pack and pour it into your dish. If you don’t use the entire pack, just fold and keep it in the fridge for up to three days. No more searching for the lid to the Tupperware dish.

With a Tetra Pak, there’s also no chance of a metallic aftertaste like you can get from cans. They’re also so light, you won’t risk denting, bruising or damaging your other groceries on the way home from the supermarket either!

Finally, the Tetra Paks are an environmentally sound alternative to steel cans, as a Tetra Pak produces 81 percent less carbon emissions than steel cans, and is made from 69 percent renewable materials. Plus, up to 10 times more Tetra Paks can fit into a single truck than steel cans, making them more efficient to transport.

What’s in the range?

With five no-fuss varieties available, you can cook up all kinds of cuisine. Try Chickpea Shakshuka, Red Kidney Bean Wraps, Choc Chip Walnut Lentil Brownies, Cannellini Bean Bruschetta, or a warming Three Bean Curry.

Where to buy them

McKenzie’s pulses in Tetra Pak are available at Woolworths in the canned vegetable aisle, for just $2.20 RRP. They’re the ideal option for those who want speedy, nutritious and tasty food options, while making environmentally conscious choices on the next grocery run.
