Fans were overjoyed in 2021 when it was confirmed our favourite Sex and The City characters would return for And Just Like That.
While there were a few disappointments in the beginning, like when it was confirmed Kim Cattrall would not make a regular appearance as Samantha Jones, but fans continued to tune in with every season.
But unfortunately, the AJLT chapter has come to an end in 2025.
Will there be a fourth season of And Just Like That?
Sadly, no. The final season of And Just Like That will be the third season, with part two releasing August 14, 2025.
Showrunner, writer and director Michael Patrick King confirmed the series end, revealing they decided to share the news only shortly before the part two release date to not “overshadow the fun of watching the season.”
Sarah Jessica Parker, beloved for her Sex and The City character Carrie Bradshaw, took to Instagram to comment on AJLT’s abrupt cancellation.
“MPK and I together recognized, as we have in the past, this chapter complete,” she wrote.
“AJLT was all joy, adventure, the greatest kind of hard work alongside the most extraordinary talent of 380 that includes all the brilliant actors who joined us.
“I am better for every single day I spent with you. It will be forever before I forget. The whole thing. Thank you all. I love you so.
“I hope you love these final two episodes as much as we all do.”
In Sarah’s message on Instagram, she paid homage to Carrie’s classic run across streets, breaking heels and hearts, and dancing with Stanford.
“[She] changed homes, time zones, boyfriends, her mind, her shoes, her hair, but never her love and devotion to New York City,” she wrote. “Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte, there will never be better friends and what great fortune for Carrie to come to know and love Seema and LTW, most divine new connections.”
Why didn’t Kim Cattrall return to And Just Like That?
Despite the public’s admiration for Samantha Jones, Kim Cattrall didn’t reprise her Sex and The City role in the reboot – aside from a sudden cameo in season two.
In 2019, Kim confessed to The Guardian that she “had enough” of the franchise following the second film.
“I don’t want to be in a situation for even an hour where I’m not enjoying myself,” she said.
