The live verdict is officially in; the winner of Australian Idol 2025 is Marshall Hamburger!
“Oh my God! Thank you Australia,” he exclaimed when he won.
Marshall will now receive $100,000 in prize money, and an exclusive recording package with Hive Sound Studios.
In the two-part grand finale, the 19-year-old from Queensland performed Playing to Win by Little River Band.
He also sang a duet with Leo Sayer; together, they performed You Make Me Feel Like Dancing.

“The fact that I’m this close has made me want to win even more. Every note I sing on this stage really counts. This performance is the last hurdle to becoming the Australian Idol,” Marshall said afterwards.
Iilysh Retallick was the runner up this year.
Iilysh performed Boys in Town by Divinyls.
She also took to the stage with Wolfmother to perform their hit Joker and the Thief.
Gisella Colletti came third; she performed How Will I Know by Whitney Houston.

Gisella also performed a duet with Tina Arena; the two sang Tina’s song Heaven Help My Heart.
Other things of note that happened in the grand finale was Australian Idol judge Marcia Hines and Australia Idol alum Casey Donovan performing a duet, and the first ever Australian Idol winner Guy Sebastian performing his new song.
The Top 12 also returned.
Congratulations to Marshall; we can’t wait to see what he does next!
