This year’s Married at First Sight intruder couple, Beth and Teejay, got off to a great start.
“She’s beautiful… I definitely got that spark,” Teejay told MAFS producers immediately after the wedding ceremony.
Beth echoed these sentiments, telling producers, “[Teejay’s] very fit, very fit… Can’t wait to kiss him again; a big snog.”
And kiss him again she did; Beth and Teejay shared several sweet kisses during their wedding reception.
Are Beth and Teejay still together?
Well, for the first few weeks, Beth and Teejay seemed like a perfect match!
But trouble emerged when Beth confessed at a Commitment Ceremony that she wasn’t sure if Teejay was physically attracted to her after he stopped initiating intercourse.
He said he was, explaining the reason he had pulled back physically was because he wanted a deeper connection before sleeping together again.
Beth was then left hurt and confused when at the next Commitment Ceremony, Teejay told the experts he wasn’t feeling a connection with her – they had had intercourse earlier that week.
To make matters worse, during Homestays Week, Teejay couldn’t answer whether or not he wanted to keep seeing Beth once the experiment was over.
Then at the final Commitment Ceremony of the season, Teejay asked to leave.
Beth asked to stay though, hoping to salvage the relationship.
However, after both Beth and Teejay decided to partake in the last task of the season and meet their potential other matches (she met Oisin and he met Tara), she realised Teejay didn’t like her and never would.
“It’s obvious that he doesn’t want me and doesn’t want this relationship,” Beth told MAFS producers.
She therefore made the decision to rip the bandaid off and not go to Final Vows. Teejay took the news pretty well – unsurprising as he has already asked to leave.
Beth, however, was pretty upset.
“I genuinely thought we’d walk out of this experiment together; I thought we were perfectly matched… It’s so sad that we didn’t work out.”
In short, no, Beth and Teejay are not still together.
The final two ‘Reunion’ episodes of Married at First Sight will air on Channel 9 and 9now on Sunday, April 6 and Monday April 7.
