Fresh off her iconic performance at Eurovision, Delta Goodrem is back in Australia and has announced a new tour: PURE World Tour, starting in Australia.
Although billed as a “world tour”, the only confirmed stops are currently in Australia! The eight-city tour will travel around the country to promote her upcoming album PURE. However, international venues are coming.
The ARIA Award-winning artist came forth in Eurovision (fans believe she was “robbed”) with her song “Eclipse”. Following her performance, Delta had a sold-out tour in Europe, so she’s ready to bring her music back home.
“Every tour has its own heartbeat, and I can already feel how special this one is going to be,” Delta said in a statement. “Eclipse was the beginning of this new chapter, and it’s only the start of what’s to come.”
“It’s going to be epic,” she continued. “I can’t wait to fill these incredible rooms with love, sing-alongs, and the power of music bringing us together at exactly the right moment. I can’t wait to bring it to life on stages across Australia. Gravity is optional.”
Ahead of her Eurovision performance, Delta spoke exclusively with The Weekly about what Australia should expect (as well as a life update).
“I’ve always believed in the power of music from the day I was born,” she told Tiffany Dunk in that interview. “I believed in what it could do for people. You know, in times of trouble, people turn to music. When happy moments occur, they turn to music. I’ve always been moved by music deeply, and I really believe in the healing power and the hope and unity that come with things like Eurovision.”
The multi-platinum artist announced the tour in an intimate one-night-only concert in Sydney’s Liberty Hall. The following day, she joined Nova 100’s Jase, Lauren & Clint, where she shared what fans should expect:
“I’m so excited,” she told Jase. “We are bringing ‘Eclipse’ to the stage around the country, and all the new music with ‘Hologram’…the songs we have coming out, you get to know the record and all the songs everyone knows, and I just can’t wait to sort of hit the stage here and bring the arena show to life. I’m pumped, absolutely excited.”
She also spoke about her Eurovision experience, calling it “profoundly special.”
“I felt it in my heart and my soul as I was there. I felt like all of you in the country with me.”
Furthermore, she addressed rumours that, just like how she joined Robbie Williams at the 2022 AFL Grand Final, she might join Kylie Minogue this year.
“There’s always a chance,” she teased. “Currently I’m Strictly-ing [Strictly Come Dancing] but if I danced my way over I’d be there in a heartbeat. I’d dance my way down the aisle and swim if I had to, to get there.”
Strictly Come Dancing is one of the UK’s most watched reality television shows, similar to Dancing With The Stars.
