Every time the Spice Girls have reunited over the years

Is the group planning something for their 30th anniversary?

In 1994, Melanie Brown “Scary Spice’, Melanie Chisholm ‘Sporty Spice ‘, Emma Bunton ‘Baby Spice’, Geri Halliwell ‘Ginger Spice’, and Victoria Beckham ‘Posh Spice’ kicked off the 90s with their infectious and outrageous dance hit Wannabe’. The song became emblematic of the unapologetic girl power ethos that would underline the Spice Girls‘ reign over pop music throughout the decade.

However, the girl group’s reign didn’t end with their disbandment in 2001. In the almost three decades since, we’ve seen a number of Spice Girls reunions, including one in 2007 and at Victoria Beckham’s 50th birthday.

Mel C teased fans in November 2025, revealing the girl group is considering a reunion for their 30th anniversary in 2026.

“We toured in 2019, we did a few stadium shows in the UK and it was incredible,” she said on Good Morning America. “We’re just so proud of the legacy that we have and we have fans now from new generations are just loving the Spice Girls so I would like to get back on stage with the girls.

“We’re talking and we’re seeing what opportunities are out there. The thing that stops us is we feel so precious about it, we want to make sure it’s the right thing and agree on the right thing.”

Then, Mel again hinted at a reunion when she performed a medley of Spice Girls songs on New Year’s Eve celebrations on ABC.

A Spice Girls reunion was not on our bingo card for 2024, but here we are! Emma, Geri, Melanie C and Mel B stepped out to celebrate Victoria’s 50th birthday. And they even snapped a group picture together.

But that’s not where the reunion ends. David Beckham, who is perhaps the biggest Spice Girls fan of all, gave hungry fans a glimpse of the reunion. He shared a video of the girls performing their 1997 hit Stop.

Just a few weeks after the reunion, Victoria’s son Cruz revealed that The Spice Girls also belted out their hit Mama in an impromptu performance.

Cruz, who can also be seen in the video playing the acoustic guitar, captioned the clip: “You’re welcome….”.

In 2018, we all lost our minds when the Spice Girls announced they were reuniting and hitting the road for a tour of the UK. At the time, Victoria Beckham did not join her former bandmates due to other commitments, however, after seeing her perform Stop at her 50th birthday party, a proper reunion may be on the horizon.

Just four years before they would officially reunite, Geri, Emma and Mel B attempted to create a trio sub-group of the Spice Girls aptly named ‘GEM’ to celebrate the group’s 20th anniversary.

The trio launched an official website and even teased upcoming music (which was eventually leaked) but the project fizzled out before it event began. Geri later stated that the trio couldn’t proceed with their project without Melanie C or Victoria Beckham.

In 2012, the Spice Girls injected an electrifying boost of girl power into the London Olympics when the group reunited to perform to rapturous crowd of over 600,000 at the Closing Ceremony. Though the group variously spoke positively of the reunion, in an interview with Vanity Fair, Victoria Beckham told the publication that the Olympics performance was her saying ‘goodbye’ to the Posh Spice caricature.

“That was a perfect time to say, “That’s great. Thank you to everybody, but no more,'” she said. “Sometimes you’ve got to know when it’s time to leave the party.”

That same year, the girls once again reunited to promote the jukebox musical, Viva Forever! which was written and developed by Jennifer Saunders in conjunction with Geri Halliwell.

Seven years after initially disbanding, The Spice Girls announced they would be reuniting with their original line-up which included Geri Halliwell who had previously left the band in 1998. The original tour included a handful of dates but was then quickly expanded to accompany the enormous demand.
