A deep dive into Zoë Kravitz’s relationship history

Is Channing Tatum her happily ever after?

Zoë Kravitz is the ultimate cool girl. From being the daughter of rocker Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet to making her directorial debut with her upcoming film P-ssy Island, Zoë is an undeniable artistic and cultural force. And while we love her for her incredible body of work, including Big Little Lies, right now she’s hitting headlines for her recent romance with Hollywood heartthrob, Channing Tatum. The pair have been dating since 2021 and it’s now speculated that the couple may be headed for the aisle very soon.

Let’s look into Zoë Kravitz’s past relationships from Channing Tatum to Penn Badgely.

Channing Tatum (2021 – Now)

After two years of dating, Zoë Kravitz and Channing Tatum are reportedly headed for the aisle! The pair initially met all the way back in 2017 when they voiced characters in The Lego Batman Movie. At the time, Zoë was with then-boyfriend, Karl Glusman and Channing was married to Jenna Dewan. The pair didn’t cross paths again until 2021 when they made a series of outings in New York City and their first official outing as a couple at the 2021 Met Gala which was held in September due to the pandemic.

The couple didn’t publicly confirm the relationship until Zoë opened up in a November 2022 interview with GQ where she said: “He’s just a wonderful human.”

“He makes me laugh and we both really love art and talking about art and the exploration of why we do what we do. We love to watch a film and break it down and talk about it and challenge each other.”

After two years of dating, People have reported that Channing has reportedly popped the question after Zoë, who was dressed as Rosemary Woodhouse from the 1968 horror movie Rosemary’s Baby, was snapped sporting a glamourous engagement ring at Kendall Jenner’s Halloween party.

If the rumours are true, it looks like Zoë’s dad Lenny Kravitz wholeheartedly approves. In December 2023, the singer-songwriter and actor spoke with E! News, and when asked about Channing, he said:

“I love him. He’s a great guy… We’re very close, and we have a great line of communication.

“We hang out like you hang out with your family,” Lenny continued. “We’re together whenever we can.”

Karl Glusman (2016 – 2020)

Prior to meeting Channing Tatum, Zoë Kravitz was married to American actor Karl Glusman. The pair met in 2016 after being set up by a mutual friend and kept their relationship relatively private until Zoë revealed their engagement in the October 2018 edition of Rolling Stone.

“Oh yeah, I’m engaged,” the Big Little Lies star confirmed in the interview after the reporter spotted an engagement ring on her finger. Karl had actually proposed to Zoë back in January of that year and had subtly worn the engagement ring around her neck. The following year, Karl and Zoë tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Paris where the actress donned a stunning Alexander Wang drop-waist wedding dress.

However, just 18 months after saying their ‘I dos’, Zoë filed for divorce from Karl. In a cover story with Elle last year, Zoë called her ex-husband an “incredible human being.”

“It really is less about him and more about me learning how to ask myself questions about who I am and still learning who I am, and that being okay,” she said at the time. “That’s the journey I’m on right now.”

Penn Badgley (2011 – 2013)

Once upon a time, Zoë Kravitz also found herself in a two year relationship with none other than Gossip Girl and You star, Penn Badgely a year after he and co-star Blake Lively ended their relationship. Penn admitted in an interview that he was in “earth-shattering love” with the then 22-year-old Zoë. However, this relationship, though iconic in its own right, was short lived.

Us Weekly reported confirmed news of the couple’s split in June 2013 after just two years of dating. Penn eventually went on to wed musician Domino Kirke in 2017. The couple also welcomed their first baby in 2020, a son named James.

Ben Foster (2007 – 2008)

One of Zoë Kravitz’s earliest publicised relationships was one that she never technically confirmed. Zoë starred in the 2008 flick, Birds of America, alongside Ben Foster and the two were quickly snapped at a number of red carpet events together. The pair were also spotted attending Madonna’s benefit bazaar during that time. However, by 2008 the relationship seemingly fizzled out and the couple stopped making public appearances together.
