It’s that time of year again when the dress-up party invites start rolling in, the stores are lined with spooky decorations, and the great debate on whether we even celebrate Halloween in Australia or not continues to divide us…
Ultimately, it’s a fantastic excuse to begin the season of overindulging a little early with sweet treats, themed parties and fun coordinated costumes.
And our favourite part? How celebs take Halloween to a whole other level…
What celebrities go all out for Halloween?
Heidi Klum is the Queen of Halloween, which is not hard to understand when you look at the time, effort and dedication she puts into her costumes each year. In 2022 she wowed the world when she dressed as a human-sized worm. This year marks Heidi’s 23rd star-studded Annual Halloween Party.
Read on to find all our favourite celebrities who have pulled out all the stops with the most outrageous, hilarious, and glamorous costumes over the years.

Heidi Klum and Tom Kaulitz
Heidi Klum is well known for her extravagant and slightly bizarre outfits at her annual Halloween Party and this year’s was no different!
The 51-year-old model along with her husband Tom Kaulitz both spent hours in the makeup chair to look identical to the alien, E.T.

Bindi Irwin, Chandler Powell, and Grace
The best thing about being ahead of the US is seeing Halloween costumes from our favourite Aussie celebs slowly trickling in. This year Bindi Irwin and her family had a message for their followers.
“Grace the giraffe and her zookeepers here to wish you a happy #Halloween from @australiazoo!” was captioned alongside an adorable picture of daughter Grace dressed up as a giraffe next to the couple in their iconic khakis.
Courteney Cox
Nothing beats a nostalgic Halloween moment, and Courteney Cox stole the show this year with her Scream costume! The actress dressed up as her character Gale Weathers from the popular film franchise.

Kate Ritchie
We love nothing more than a group costume, and Kate Ritchie knocked it out of the park alongside colleagues Tom Ivey, Michael Wipfli, and Jess Francis. The radio group dressed up as the Adams Family, with Kate front and centre as Wednesday.

Julia Morris
In true funny woman style, Julia Morris embraced the spooky season with a hilarious outfit first thing in the morning! Posting on her Instagram, Julie captioned the image with her plans for the morning.
“We have to go now if we are going to be on time… #schooldropoff.”

Selena Gomez
In 2024, Only Murders in the Building star Selena Gomez dressed up as Alice from Alice in Wonderland alongside her boyfriend Benny Blanco, who dressed as the Mad Hatter from Tim Burton’s 2010 film adaptation.

Heidi Klum
The supermodel and her husband Tom Kaulit went to the extreme once again for Halloween 2023. Heidi dressed as a peacock and Tom went as an egg…

Larsen Thompson
The actress and model attended Heidi’s annual Halloween party in 2023 dressed as the iconic Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City.

Margot Robbie
Barbie star Margot Robbie attended the 2023 Casamigos Halloween party in a look we aren’t used to from the Hollywood A-lister. Not a drop of pink in sight as she rocked an all black outfit, black wig, and an iconic Guy Fawkes mask.

Bruce Willis
In 2017, Bruce Willis and his assistant Stephen J. Eads won Halloween with their creepy twins costumes inspired by the movie The Shining.

Martha Stewart
Martha took our breath away in 2013 with this whimsical pink tulle ‘Fairy Godmother’ frock.

Edward Norton and Shauna Robertson
With all the Beckham hype, we were hoping someone would give us this iconic duo costume for Halloween. Edward and Shauna took no shortcuts as they embodied Posh and Becks at the 2023 Casamigos Halloween party.

Mike Myers
Mike and Kelly Tisdale sported matching leather, long black hair, and aviators to create the perfect rockstar duo at Heidi Klum’s 19th Annual Halloween Party.

Harry Styles
The singer definitely pulled off this Elton John-inspired Halloween costume in 2018, and even bought the energy to match!

Lisa Rinna
We love… Lisa! The Real Housewives star absolutely delighted her fans when in 2010 she showed up dressed as the one and only Lucille Ball.

Cindy Crawford and George Clooney
The supermodel has bought us a range of iconic Halloween looks over the years but nothing could top when she coordinated with partner Rande Gerber and George Clooney in 2018. Rande and George dressed as pilots while Cindy looked chic in a flight attendant costume.

Jerry Seinfeld
Jerry and his wife Jessica kept it classic in 2018, dressing as the universally recognisable Little Red Riding Hood and her grandmother.

Tina Fey and Will Ferrell
The hilarious duo dressed as the characters they respectively voice in the animated film Megamind for the NBC’s Today Halloween episode in 2010.

Mel B
Mel B (AKA Scary Spice) dressed up as her former Spice Girls colleague Victoria Beckham (AKA Posh Spice) for Halloween 2018. Mel’s friend dressed as Victoria’s husband David Beckham.

Katy Perry
Around the same time as her campaign for Hilary Clinton in 2016, Katy joined up with a friend to bring attention to the political pair of Hilary and Bill Clinton in a very unique way!

Jamie Lee Curtis
In 2021, the Halloween Kills star honoured her mother, Janet Leigh, with this almost identical look.

Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka
This dynamic duo always seem to delight with their well-thought-out couple costumes and 2018 was no different with the pair opting for Inigo Montoya and Westley from the classic movie The Princess Bride.

Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake
We love a hilarious couple costume, and Jessica dressing up as husband Justin circa his NSYNC days is perfection. Plus, we just love that JT opted to be nothing more than a microphone.

Heidi Klum (again)
We had to put Heidi on the list again for this one. Our favourite costume the supermodel’s ever donned was when she and Tom went as Shrek and Fiona in 2018.

Busy Phillips
The actress and her daughter Birdie Leigh wore incredibly sweet matching Tinker Bell costumes in 2010.

John McEnroe
The tennis star committed costume inception by dressing up as his younger self.

Brooke Shields
The actress and mother of two juggled her mini Morticias, while dressed as Uncle Fester from The Addams Family in 2011.

Josh Duhamel
Looking unrecognisable, Josh followed what seemed to be a costume trend in 2022 amongst the celebs – attending a party as your older self!

Miranda Kerr
The model had us dropping our jaws with this pink Powerrangers costume in 2022; she really can pull off anything.

Catherine Zeta-Jones
All glammed up, the Welsh actress stunned at a 2019 event as Kitty Packard, Jean Harlow‘s character from the 1933 movie Dinner at Eight.

Kelly Clarkson
We love seeing celebrities pull out all the glits and glam for Halloween, and Kelly’s ode to Meryl Streep’s character Madeline Ashton from the 1992 movie Death Becomes Her is literal perfection.

Bette Midler
Halloween royalty, Bette dazzled in 2017 with this gorgeous floral Marie Antoinette costume. We can’t help but love the sky high hair!
