Emily Cooper may be the young naive American with wacky fashion that has undeniably divided viewers, but everyone loves Emily in Paris.
When the show premiered in 2020, it was a smash hit streamed by 58 million households worldwide. It even received industry praise with two Golden Globe nominations in 2021.

So, why is it so beloved?
Well, Emily in Paris isn’t just about Emily. We’re more focused on Camille and Sylvie’s envious fashion, the complicated love-triangles, and the cinematic tour of Paris which will venture to Rome for the fifth season.
At the end of season four, viewers travelled to Rome, Italy as Emily followed her heart. And that is where she is staying for the fifth season – or so we thought…
In the official season five trailer released in early December, it seems like Emily was regretting her big move.
“Embrace the detour, home wasn’t built in a day,” Netflix shared.

What is the plot of Emily in Paris?
Emily Cooper is an ambitious marketing executive from America, when a dream job requiring her to relocate to Paris, France falls in her lap. We watch Emily make new friends, chase after the wrong man, and attend fabulous events.
As the seasons progress, there is one theme in common: a messy love triangle. In the previous four seasons, we have met three different love interests, Gabriel, Alfie, and Marcello.
In the fifth season, Emily’s steamy romance with Marcello will continue in Rome. While Gabriel will undoubtedly try to win her back.
“This season is a tale of two cities: Rome and Paris,” creator Darren Star told Tudum. “Straddling both, Emily takes love and life to the next level.”

Who does Emily end up with?
We don’t know! It has been four seasons of this tug-of-war and we aren’t any closer to finding out who Emily will ride off into the sunset with.
Emily broke Alfie’s heart, but could there still be a spark between them? But, Marcello truly won us over during the fourth season and we’re getting tired of Gabriel’s indecisiveness. Hopefully Marcello doesn’t let fans down in the fifth!
