After weeks of silence and swirling speculation, Farmer Wants a Wife couple Thomas and Clarette have broken their silence – and they’re setting the record straight.

In a joint Instagram post, the couple opened up about life after the cameras stopped rolling, revealing what really went on behind the scenes of their TV love story.

“We’ve stayed silent for a long time. But now, we’re finally able to share our story – the real story,” the couple wrote, alongside a series of candid photos showing their life together since filming wrapped.

Throughout the season, fans watched as Thomas and Clarette’s connection deepened – but not without drama. While Thomas stood firm in his affections, Clarette’s portrayal raised eyebrows, with some viewers labelling her “jealous” and “needy”. But according to the pair, what we saw on screen didn’t tell the full story.

“What you saw on the show wasn’t the whole picture or truth,” they wrote. “There were so many real, beautiful moments that didn’t make it to the screen, and it’s disappointing that so much of our love story was never shown.”

In a recent blog post, Clarette didn’t shy away from acknowledging the impact the experience had on her emotionally, but says it’s made her stronger.

“The love that emerged from it, the friendships, the growth – I carry them with me as scars, beautiful although painful,” she reflected. “This experience cracked us open, but in that cracking came growth.”

Thomas and Clarette also addressed the challenges of navigating their relationship under the public eye, admitting it hasn’t been easy.

“We signed up for love. And what we found in each other is more than we ever expected. Through all the noise, we’ve stuck together, and it’s only brought us closer and made us stronger,” they wrote.

Since the reunion special aired, the couple has confirmed they’re still going strong, with Clarette moving to Thomas’ South Australian farm to build a life together.

“I moved here on my own, I live in my own house, I pay my own bills, and I found myself a full time job.  In rural life, strength isn’t optional – it’s essential,” Clarette wrote.

“Farmers don’t just want love; they need a woman willing to share the weight of the land, to embrace isolation with resilience, and to find beauty in the open spaces. It takes grit to choose that life, and even more to thrive in it. That kind of strength from a woman willing to give up her whole life deserves celebration, not criticism.”
