How did Kristen Bell meet her husband?
Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard first met in 2007 at a dinner held in honour of mutual friend Shauna Robertson’s birthday.
Surprisingly, sparks didn’t fly that night; Dax has since shared that he was initially suspicious of Kristen because she had an “unbridled happiness”.
“I thought, ‘Something stinks here; they’re in a cult,’” he told Good Housekeeping.
And Kristen has admitted that she thought Dax talked too much. “This guy can ta-alk!,” she recalled.
However, two weeks later, Kristen and Dax crossed paths again at a Detroit Red Wings hockey game.
This time, the two bonded and the very next day Dax asked Shauna for Kristen’s phone number.
Kristen and Dax then began dating.
How long have Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard been together?
As aforementioned, in 2007, the couple started dating. But just three months into their relationship, Kristen and Dax broke up.
Dax was still dating other people and wasn’t ready to go exclusive with Kristen. So, she pulled the plug.
However, just four days after their break up, Dax got in touch with Kristen and said he’d made a big mistake and wanted to be exclusive with her after all.
The couple have been together ever since.
In late 2009, Dax proposed to Kristen – although the couple didn’t publicly confirm their engagement until February 2010.
Furthermore, Kristen and Dax didn’t tie the knot straight away; they vowed not to wed until gay marriage had been legalised in California.
Keeping their promise, when gay marriage finally was legalised in June 2013, Kristen re-proposed to Dax and the couple got married on October 17, 2013 in a private ceremony at the Beverly Hills courthouse.

Yes! On October 17, 2024 the couple will celebrate their 11th wedding anniversary.
How many children does Kristen Bell have?
Kristen and Dax share two children.
Their first child, daughter Lincoln Bell Shepard, was born on March 28, 2013.
