And so, here’s everything you need to know about MADAM before it premieres.

What is the MADAM TV series about?
MADAM follows Mackenzie ‘Mack’ Leigh; an American expat who has settled into a quiet life in small-town New Zealand with her husband, Rob, and their two sons.
Mack’s world takes an unexpected turn when she learns Rob has been secretly seeing a sex worker (sex work is legal in New Zealand).

But instead of outrage, Mack feels something else: inspiration.
Always one to take risks, she discovers the town’s only brothel is run by an unscrupulous owner. And so, she spots a gap in the market.
With no money, no experience, and Rob firmly against the idea, Mack takes matters into her own hands. Literally by forging his signature to fund her vision of a “feminist, ethical brothel.”
As for her team? Meet ‘The Sweethearts,’ a diverse mix of women, including Tui, the very sex worker Rob had been visiting…

Is MADAM based on a true story?
Yes, MADAM was inspired by a true story; it’s based on Madam: A Memoir by Antonia Murphy.
