She was also the first woman athlete to be made a L’Oréal Paris Brand Ambassador in Australia and New Zealand in March 2024. Other ambassadors for the brand include Jane Fonda, Vioa Davis, Gillian Anderson, and Helen Mirren.

“This will be my first time walking a runway, and while it’s a little outside of my comfort zone,” said Mary ahead of Fashion Week. “The opportunity to walk alongside extraordinary women in a celebration of women’s empowerment, inclusion, and sisterhood is truly inspiring.”

“Ever since I was young, I’ve loved experimenting with different looks – both with clothing and makeup. For me, beauty has always been about expressing who I am, both on and off the field. Walking in Le
Défilé is a chance to show that strength, confidence, and authenticity are beautiful in every form. I want every young woman watching, especially in Australia, to know that you don’t have to fit a mould to be
worthy and hope to inspire others to celebrate their individuality and wear their confidence with pride,” she continued in a statement.

Mary Fowler makes her runway debut

Mary Fowler made her runway debut along with other international stars, including Gillian Anderson, Kendall Jenner, Andie MacDowell, Eva Longoria, and our recent cover stars Dame Judi Dench and Jane Fonda.

Following her first runway, Mary made the following statement:

“Stepping onto the runway was an exhilarating experience and different from anything I’ve experienced on the football pitch. To walk alongside such inspiring figures, representing L’Oréal Paris, reinforced my belief that beauty is about embracing who we truly are and the confidence that comes with it. I hope every young woman watching, especially back home in Australia, felt that sense of empowerment and is inspired to embrace their individuality and walk with pride, knowing they are worth it.”
