Everything you need to know about Kristen Wiig’s new TV series Palm Royale

The SNL legend looks almost unrecognisable in this role.

The first trailer for Kristen Wiig’s highly anticipated comedy TV series, Palm Royale, is here!

Set against the colourful retro backdrop of Palm Beach in 1969, this true underdog narrative follows protagonist Maxine Simmons, played by Kristen, who attempts to cross the threshold into Floridian high society.

The plot explores the human experience of envy and desire as it examines how far one woman is willing to go, to climb the social ladder.

If this tale of ambition and America’s most elite sounds like a show you could get around – and it should (we think it’ll be the next White Lotus) – continue reading to find out everything you need to know…

Who stars in Palm Royale?

Our favourite SNL alumna Kristen Wiig not only stars as the main character Maxine Simmons, but also works alongside Laura Dern as an executive producer.

Joining Kristen is a star-studded ensemble cast including Allison Janney, Ricky Martin, Josh Lucas, Leslie Bibb, Amber Chardae Robinson, Mindy Cohn, Julia Duffy, Laura Dern and Kaia Gerber. The series will also feature special guest appearances by Bruce Dern and Carol Burnett.
