Actor and director Rob Reiner and wife, Michele was found dead in their Los Angeles home.
The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) responded to a call and discovered a 78-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman dead inside on Sunday afternoon. According to reports, authorities have called it an “apparent homicide”. The two victims were reportedly stabbed.
As Rob is 78, it led to media outlets reporting that Rob is the male victim and his wife is the female victim. It was then confirmed by his family that the victims were Rob and Michele.
“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner. We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time,” the statement read.
Rob and Michele’s son has since been arrested in connection to their death. For more details on this, click here.

Rob has been a prolific actor, producer, and director throughout his six-decade-long career. He starred in many television shows, from the 1970s comedy sitcom All in the Family to New Girl and The Bear. He also starred in timeless films like The First Wives Club, Sleepless in Seattle, The Story of Us, and The Wolf of Wall Street. Rob has also directed some of the world’s most beloved flicks. Films in his roster include When Harry Met Sally, The Princess Bride, A Few Good Men, and This is Spinal Tap.
Michele was a photographer who took the iconic photograph of Donald Trump, which was used as the cover for his book, Trump: The Art of the Deal. The couple first met when Rob was directing When Harry Met Sally. Apparently, their meeting led to him changing the film’s ending.
In an interview with AV Club, he confirmed the film was originally meant to end with Harry and Sally not getting together:
“At that time, I couldn’t figure out how I was going to get with anybody, so I just had them walking in opposite directions at the end. And then I met the woman who became my wife during the making of the movie, and I changed the ending.”
Furthermore, it was his mother who uttered the unforgettable punch line, “I’ll have what she’s having.” Said in response to Meg Ryan’s iconic fake-orgasm in the diner scene.

The couple had three children together, Jake, Nick and Romy. Rob is also the adoptive father of Tracy Reiner. She is the daughter of the late actress and director Penny Marshall, Rob’s first wife.
According to People magazine, their bodies were discovered by Romy.
