The Office, created by British comedians Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, first premiered 23 years ago in 2001.
The mockumentary series, which starred Ricky as well as Martin Freeman, chronicled the work lives of various people employed at a small office branch of a paper company, managed by cringy David Brent.
The Office went on to be a worldwide hit and was nominated for two Emmy Awards.
But then a United States remake of the series premiered in 2005 and ultimately eclipsed the original.
The Office (US version) went on to run for nine seasons (six more than the UK version) and won five Emmy Awards, including the prestigious Outstanding Comedy Series award.
Most people tend to think of the US version, which starred Steve Carell, when they hear ‘The Office’. Of course, the rest think of the original UK version.

So far, The Office has been remade in the US (as aforementioned), Germany, France, Canada, Chile, Israel, Sweden, Czech Republic, Finland, India, Poland and Saudi Arabia.
