Known for the successful films The Devil Wears Prada, Spotlight, The Lovely Bones, and The Hunger Games, and with five Emmy Awards, three Golden Globes and one Oscar nomination under his belt, it’s safe to say that Stanley Tucci is a celebrated actor.
But in recent years, Stanley has also pursued a career in cooking.
Since 2012, the actor has released two cookbooks — The Tucci Cookbook and The Tucci Table: Cooking With Family and Friends — and two memoirs that revolve around food — Taste: My Life Through Food and What I Ate in One Year.
Plus, in 2021, Stanley hosted the culinary travel series Searching for Italy, for which he embarked on a food tour of Italy.
Not to mention, the Easy A star regularly shares his own delectable recipes, like Caponata, on Instagram.
With all this in mind, it’s not surprising that King Charles has hired Stanley to curate a menu for an upcoming dinner party.
As first reported by The Telegraph, Charles is set to host a “private dinner to celebrate Anglo-Italian relations” in 2025.
And he requested that Stanley — who is of Italian descent — be involved.
“Now, okay, I won’t actually be in the kitchen cooking for him,” Stanley told The Telegraph.
“But the Italian ambassador came to me and said, ‘I want to do a meal, and Charles would like you to participate,’ so I’ve been coming up with the menu.”
Stanley went on to share that, so far, his menu will feature roast pork, kale, and squash.
“All of that nice, wintry, heavier stuff… [The meal will] showcase all of this incredible British produce.”
Acclaimed Italian chef Francesco Mazzei will cook Stanley’s curated menu at His Majesty’s dinner party. This is an extremely nice touch as Francesco was the chef for Stanley’s 2012 wedding to Felicity Blunt. Fun fact: Felicity is the sister of Stanley’s The Devil Wears Prada co-star Emily Blunt.
The upcoming Anglo-Italian dinner will not mark the first time Stanley and Charles meet. They’ve crossed paths a few times before.
In March 2015, Stanley and Charles both attended a reception for Americans living and working in the UK.
In May 2019, they both attended the Fortnum & Mason Food & Drink awards.
And in May 2023, Stanley attended a Prince’s Trust event hosted by Charles at Buckingham Palace.
