You’d be forgiven for thinking that King Charles and Queen Camilla would only drink uber-expensive wine.
They are the King and Queen of England after all.
However, an insider has revealed the five wines Their Majesties drank when they dined with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese during their recent Australian trip.

And in surprising news, all five wines are less than $35!
- Josef Chromy Sparkling NV: Available at Dan Murphy’s for $32.99
- Hentley Farm Eden Valley Riesling: Available at Hentley Farm for $28
- Hentley Farm Barossa Shiraz: Available at Liberty Liquors for $32.99
- Castelli Silver Series Chardonnay: Available at Wine Cow for $18.99
- Cape Mentelle Marmaduke Cabernet Sauvignon: Available at Corkscrew Cellars for $18.99
Alongside these affordable wines, King Charles and Queen Camilla enjoyed a very Australian menu that featured Bundaberg Spanner Crab, Griffith Salted Murray Cod Croquette, Tasmanian Gravlax Salmon and a Caramel Slice from Messina among many other delicious dishes.

“It’s an honour to know that King Charles has tasted our sparkling, and to be honest, it was a bit of a ‘pinch me’ moment when we saw the menu,” Ockie Myburgh of Josef Chromy Wines told The Weekly.
“We take great pride in showcasing the unique qualities of Tasmania’s cool-climate wines, so to be the Tasmanian representation on the list is validating for the whole team.”
Similarly, David Moulton of Cape Mentelle told us:
“I have to admit, it’s not every day you get to say that royalty has sipped your wine! It was a surprise to see the list and realise we were included, and it brought a real buzz to the team. Moments like this remind us why we put so much effort into the small details.

“Hopefully, the palace will be putting in an order for a few cases of Margaret River Cabernet when they return home!”
Ockie’s wine, the Josef Chromy Sparkling NV, has a fresh, lively palate of green apple and lemon with hints of toasted biscuit.
Whereas David’s wine, the Cape Mentelle Marmaduke Cabernet Sauvignon, has a palate of red and dark berry fruits integrated with supple tannins.
